A love bird is a great choice but it is a one person pet. If the bird gets attached to another person I will attack you grandmother. But, if it takes to your grandmother I would be the best gift you could get her. They can be very playful and cuddly.

What is the meaning of the yellow bird in In Cold Blood symbolize?

Question by Sasha: What is the meaning of the yellow bird in In Cold Blood symbolize?
The yellow bird keeps appearing, What does it mean?

Best answer:

Answer by wpanther30
Yellow bird symbolizes love devotion everything good.
And cold blood symbolizes misfortune hate death everything bad.

He was put to death, and as his blood ran cold a yellow bird took him tor a heaven

he used to steal and a she a yellow bird changed his ways.
You get the idea
For his blood was cold in hate and her yellow bird smiled upon him and showed him a new way to live.

Course way I see it is a yellow bird could resemble yellow like cowardice and in cold blood be the teasing and maybe killing him for being that way.

But thats all I got hope it helps dave

What kind of bird do you think it is?

by axelkr

Question by Allycea’s Mommy: What kind of bird do you think it is?
My mom found a bird in her backyard yesterday and caught it and put it in a cage. My mom says it look like a parakeet, but my dad says that its too big to be a parakeet. She said that it’s about the size of a cockateil, but that it’s head is a dark green and the rest of it’s body is a teal green color. Anybody have any ideas or know a website I can go to that has pictures of birds so that I could maybe match it up. I appreciate it.
I’d like to also mention that my mom says it’s very very loud… squawking ALL the time

what kind of bird houses should i get?

Question by sportzy922: what kind of bird houses should i get?
I live in Virginia on a farm with animals and an orchard surrounded by woodland. My house is pretty private is it is at the edge of a long dirt road. I am considering buying and putting up several bird houses around my yard. Here are my questions:
1) What kinds of birds in Virginia will nest in man-made boxes, so what kind of bird houses should I get?
2)Where sould i put the houses (please tell me for each different species)?
3) How high should I put them and how far apart?
4) what is the most number of houses i can have in my yard (8 acers)?
5) I have several feeders near each other that there are always birds on, but I’ve read not to put houses near the feeders. How come?
6) If I attach houses to the side of my barn, will they nest in them? Also, will robins and swallows nest on perches inside my barn?

Any advice you have would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!!!

…the “little” birds will flock in most anywhere… the thing to remember… the size of the entrance “hole” will most always determine the size of the bird looking for a home… Martins like the Hotel lifestyle… multi levels and lots of rooms all in one BIG building on a post about 10 ft. off the ground (and they eat bugs, bugs, bugs… “Google” up bird houses and check it out.

How can I make my first bird trust me?

Question by noneed2unplug: How can I make my first bird trust me?
I have just received my first bird as a pet. I don’t know much about birds and what I’d like to know is, how can I tame my bird from biting and how can I build a trust between us? I would like it to trust me enough to perch on and off my hand when I tell it to. Your input is important.

Answer by jon_mac_usa
You got it correct, you need to build trust. Every bird is different and it might take awhile. Try to move slowly when you approach the cage and try to learn your birds body language. Sometime food treats can make training go more quickly.

Help, Bird Help… Lots of questions?

Question by Magical: Help, Bird Help… Lots of questions?
Put 1. and 2. for I know what question your anwsering:

1. Whats a robins favourite bird food? Oil? Seeds?
2. What birds like sun flower seeds?
3. Is there such thing as an owl feeder?
4. How high should I put my bird feeder in the tree?
5. Can cats hurt the birds while they are eating bird food?

THANKS!

Best answer:

Answer by margecutter
Robins are not seed eaters. They eat insects and worms, and some fruit. The robins in my yard come to the feeding station when I put out grapes.

Sunflower seed (the black oil type, not the striped) is a favorite food of many birds, including blue jays, chickadees, finches, nuthatches and tufted titmouse.

There is no such thing as an owl feeder. Owls are predators. They catch and eat other animals.

Feeders should be at about 4-5 feet from the ground, if you are hanging them in trees. There are other feeding stations that you can make for ground-feeding birds.

Cats can absolutely hurt birds while they are eating bird food. That is why you should never allow your cats to roam outside. You should chase any neighbor cats you see in your yard. You should also provide some shelter for the birds, like bushes, that they can fly into quickly to escape cats and other predators.

I know that you did not ask about it, but another important thing to remember is to provide a source of clean, fresh water for your backyard birds. Another thing – if you have birdhouses where birds are nesting, do not place your feeders too close to the birdhouses. The food can attract predators that would harm or kill the baby birds.
